The other day I was making a grocery list and got tired of trying to guess how much was left in the spice containers. In that moment I decided it was time to give the spice drawer a little makeover.
I counted up how many spices we have and then ordered two sets of these clear jars. They came with premade labels for the jars and lids, as well as some blank ones you can label yourself.
I started by emptying out the drawer and the cabinet above it, where we store coffee and extra spices. The drawer and cabinet got wiped down, and gathered all of the like spices, tossed any containers that were expired, and then poured them into the new jars.
Once all the jars were full, I placed them back in the drawer in alphabetical order so that we can easily locate them.
The backstock of extra spices is now organized and neatly stored in the cabinet above the drawer. I know this little project is going to make life much easier in the kitchen.
I love how this quick, easy, and inepensive project has made a big impact on our kitchen. Now I know exactly what I have and can easily determine when it’s time buy more of something!
